How to become a member of Adventist Credit Union
Opening an Individual Account
To become a member of The Adventist Credit Union, you must fall into what is called our ‘common bond’. This means you must be a member of The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church.
To join the credit union, you must complete the relevant membership application form (available from the collection point or online here, or you can call us on 07930 854730 to receive a form by post or email). You must provide proof of ID (e.g. driving licence, passport, birth certificate) and proof of address (e.g. recent utility bill, or bank statement) when submitting your application.
Your application will be subject to a non-refundable £5.00 administration fee and you must deposit a minimum of £10.00 into your savings account.
To join the credit union, junior members must complete the relevant young saver’s form. Young Savers application forms are available from the collection point or online here, or you can call us on 07930 854730 to receive a form by post or email.
Young savers are not required to pay an admin fee to join the credit union; any money they pay will be put directly into their savings account.
Young savers are aged 0 – 16 years. From age 17 onwards they are classed as full credit union members, and eligible to take out loans from age 18 onwards.
The Adventist Credit Union welcomes corporate members.
So if you are a member of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church, or a family member or friend of an SDA member, and you own a company, and would like your company to avail itself of all the privileges of the credit union, you can complete our Corporate Membership Application Form.
To become a corporate member you will need to submit details of your company (as shown on the application form), give proof of your identity and address, pay a £5 administration fee, and deposit an initial sum of at least £10 in your credit union Share Account.
Associations and organisations (such as churches or clubs) can become corporate members.
